Another real estate investment firm is putting down roots in Austin.
Denver-based Baceline Investments LLC, a boutique private equity firm with retail holdings throughout the Central United States, has opened an office in Austin to keep better tabs on the Texas marketplace.
“Opening an office in Texas will allow us to have a finger on the pulse in one of our most important real estate markets while simultaneously putting us in closer proximity to many of our key investors,” said David Puchi, Baceline principal.
Dusty Batsell, Baceline’s director of leasing, will oversee operations throughout Texas from his Austin office.
Baceline, founded in 2003, operates a Debt Free Income Fund and a Distressed Property initiative. The Debt Free Income Fund acquires mostly retail properties, purchasing with no debt and repositioning the properties for greater returns.
The Distressed Property initiative acquires highly discounted properties and loans that suffer because of credit problems or market instability. The value play allows Baceline to invest significantly in redevelopment.
