DENVER, Oct. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Many real estate brokerage firms display photos of listings in their storefront windows. Denver-based New Era Realty has taken that concept to a whole new level, allowing potential buyers to browse available properties right from the sidewalk using a keypad mounted inside New Era’s office window. Called WindoVision, the technology provides users with the ability to access virtual tours, full-motion video and New Era Realty’s website instantly by simply touching a key. New Era, located in Denver‘s LoHi neighborhood, is the first brokerage in the city to install WindoVision.

“We are creating an opportunity to show your home or condo to everyone who walks by via a media that is the first of its kind in Denver,” said New Era Realty Co-Founder John Stegner. “We view it as an innovative way to connect buyers and sellers.”

WindoVision has evolved and improved since its inception in 1996, becoming more user friendly in the process. But don’t be fooled by its simplicity. The $18,000 system is built using high-tech magnetic sensors, which are activated when someone touches the glass. It also comes with features for more savvy users, including the ability to request information about properties via text or email or schedule a showing directly with the listing agent.

“Giving people the option to browse listings on the street expands the potential market for those homes,” said Chris Naab, the technology’s inventor. “Not all of us want to look for homes online. Some of us are old-fashioned and enjoy open houses or in this case, window shopping.”

WindoVision technology also connects the community to a network of local service providers who advertise through the system as well. New Era also plans to use the system to showcase community information and local events.

“The more valuable we make the system for people walking by, the more likely they will take the time and see everything we have to offer. Over time, we think that engagement will translate into quicker and higher-priced sales for our clients’ homes,” said New Era’s Stegner.

New Era Realty was founded in 2005 by two engineers and Colorado natives who left the information technology industry to pursue their passion for real estate. The company now has 15 agents and is projecting sales of more than $45 million for 2011.

Part of New Era’s success stems from its willingness to embrace new marketing techniques. In addition to WindoVision, New Era Realty has developed the highly ranked blog, http://www.denverloftsandcondosforsale.com, as well as other high-traffic, local real estate sites that are utilized by consumers across the country looking to buy or sell real estate in Denver. The blog consistently ranks first in Google searches for many key real estate terms.
